Pacific Trade Invest New Zealand is launching a new market to showcase how businesses from the region are stepping up globally.
The aim is to help Pacific exporters promote their products to the New Zealand market.
Pacific Trade Invest New Zealand Trade Development Manager, Joe Fuavao, said around 40 companies from eleven Pacific countries will be taking part.
Mr Fuavao said the main object for the companies at the festival is to test their products to New Zealand consumers and gauge an immediate response.
"The real benefit of having the Pasifika Business Market for our companies is that we're able to bring a point of difference by bringing a range of companies from other Pacific Islands countries that do not currently have a village," he said.
"This includes countries such as Palau, Marshall Islands and Micronesia as well as the strong contingent from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands."
The new project called Pasifika Business Market will debut at Auckland's Pasifika Festival this weekend.
