A business owner from Tahiti has created the first media database that focuses on visual and audio content that reflects the Pacific Islands.

Matairea Bessert fronts the platform called Island Media where users can upload their images, videos and sounds for other users to buy and use for their creative purposes.
He said the platform is needed because when individuals or groups search for Polynesian images, they find little or the content is vague.
Mr Bessert wants Island Media to be a space where users can search for Moorea and not get an image of a beach in the Caribbean.
"When we promo our brand, we need design, we need sound, we need videos and because I search them every time, I can't design everything, but there are other designer in the Pacific, so maybe they would upload their design and maybe I can buy."
