French Polynesia's ruling Tapura Huiraatira party has reportedly dumped its leader in the legislature - just one month after the party won a landslide victory in the territorial election.
Radio1 reports that after several meetings, it removed Sylvana Puhetini from the position, similar to a party whip, purportedly because she had also been a vice-president of the territory's assembly.
Although such a cumulation of positions is allowed, Radio1 says some party members felt that it gave her an additional number of staff.
The party has now opted to make Tepuarauri Teriitahi Tapura's new assembly leader amid reports of a minor rift within the party.
The Tapura has 38 of the assembly's 57 seats.
