The son of one of the founding fathers of Solomon Islands to contest next year's elections.
Peter Kenilorea Jr, a former representative at the United Nations, has left his job as the permanent secretary of the country's foreign ministry.
The Solomon Star reported that he will contest Malaita's East Are'are constituency, which was held by his father Sir Peter Kenilorea.
Sir Peter, who was the Solomon Islands' first prime minister, died in 2016.
