The Fiji opposition parliamentarian Anare Tuidraki Vadei has died after a short illness.
His Sodelpa party says the shadow health minister died on Thursday, and had been frail for a few months.
Mr Vadei joined Sodelpa ahead of the 2014 elections after a distinguished public service career spanning three decades.
In a statement, opposition leader Ro Teimumu Kepa says Mr Vadei was a caring and jovial man who was fully committed to his constituents.
