A senior health official at Vanuatu's Vila Central Hospital has been sacked.
The contract for the Director of Curative and Hospital Services, Willie Tokon, has been terminated after comments he made in an article in the Daily Post newspaper.
The latest Public Service Commission's announcement arrived after an earlier letter had assured Dr Tokon that his contract was still valid and he would operate until the PSC ruled otherwise.
It remains to be seen if Dr Tokon will challenge the decision in court.
Meanwhile, the Government Minister Matai Seremaiah has said an increasing number of decisions by the Commission were costing money with the government losing cases when public servants legally challenged the decisions.
