An Australian senator critical of Australia's offshore detention centres has been refused a visa by Nauru.

An email published by Greens senator Nick McKim shows Nauru was advised his trip did not have the backing of Australia's Foreign Ministry.
Nauru's Consulate in Brisbane said because of this it could not support Mr McKim's visa request.
Australian Border Force officials have revealed 11 children were transferred off Nauru today for medical attention, with another 52 minors remaining on the Pacific island.
The medical charity Doctors Without Borders says it has refused to comply with Nauru government orders to hand over medical records.
Nauru's government says an Australian doctor who left the island after being stood down is welcome back as her services are needed.
Members of the so called Nauru 19 believe the government is continuing to blacklist them despite their court case being thrown out.
