A teenager in French Polynesia has been picked up by a ferry between Moorea and Tahiti after he had apparently spent a night at sea.
The 16-year-old said he had missed the last boat going to Tahiti and decided to swim the 20-kilometres.
He was spotted by a ferry about six kilometres from Moorea with a piece of a body board.
The teenager was taken care of by a physician on board and taken to hospital.
He had not been reported missing.
