A new privately owned dialysis centre is set to open early next year in American Samoa and is expected to service around 50 patients a year.
The territorial government has made an investment of $US300,000 into the Hope Dialysis Center.
The centre's head Chris Fisher said the facility will benefit the community greatly by saving lives, creating jobs and bringing additional revenue into the territory.
Mr Fisher said although the clinic expects to initially see 50 patients a year, he expects that to grow by 20 percent annually.
The clinic will work with LBJ Medical Center, the only hospital in the territory.
