A massive fire has destroyed the town hall on the French Polynesian island of Huahine.

The blaze in Fare started in the early hours of today and quickly engulfed the roof of the building.
Efforts to control the fire were unsuccessful but reports say servers holding electronic records could be saved.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with reports suggesting there might have been an electrical fault.
