Reports from Fiji say six people are missing after setting out to sea from their villages yesterday afternoon.
FBC News reports the six were travelling on board a fiberglass boat from the island of Gau, east of the capital Suva.
The police say the boat is captained by a 31-year-old Yadua villager and also onboard are five men from Yadua and Vadravadra villages.
When the six failed to arrive at Laucala Bay near Suva yesterday, the captain's father reported the matter.
A search and rescue effort is underway.
