Cook Islands renews dengue warning

2:50 pm on 28 June 2019

Health officials in the Cook Islands are continuing to urge residents to take care as the threat of dengue lingers.

The Ministry of Health said that since February there had been 45 suspected cases of the mosquito borne disease and 22 confirmed by laboratory testing in New Zealand.

The public needs to ensure there are no mosquito breeding sites around their homes, the ministry said.
