New Caledonia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it wants the territory to introduce digital processes used in Estonia.
It has invited an expert from the Baltic country, which has moved its administration online, to explain its system as it now serves as a model of digitisation to 35 countries, including Japan and Namibia.
A Chamber member Stephane Yoteau said to save on costs it's his ambition to digitise systems.
He said New Caledonia's economy is hitting a wall and with full digitisation about $US100 million a year can be saved.
Estonia has spearheaded the transition to providing services online.
