The families of an American couple who died from an unexplained illness while holidaying in Fiji say they have not heard from police on the status of the investigation.

It's been five months since David and Michelle Paul died just days after arriving in the country.

Mrs Paul's father, Marc Calanog, told the Fiji Times there was "zero communication" with the authorities.

Mr Calanog said it was very frustrating.

The couple fell violently ill and were treated at a private clinic in Nadi.

Michelle died on 22 May, three days after arriving in the country while David died five days later at Lautoka Hospital.
