French Polynesia's government and France have signed documents to confirm the return of 1.5 hectares of land on Bora Bora to French Polynesian ownership.

The land had been gifted to France almost 50 years ago to build a school.
The school having closed last year, France has now ceded the land and its buildings which are estimated to be worth just under $US3million.
Several projects have been drawn up to make use of the site in Vaitape, Tahiti-infos reports.
