Power is gradually being restored to Fiji's main island of Viti Levu after an island-wide blackout.
The Fiji Electricity Authority said it did not know what caused the black-out at about 10.30am local time.
The authority's spokesperson, Karunesh Rao, said power had now been restored to about 70 percent of the island.
"Our team started restoring power supply using the diesel generators around Viti Levu...
"Our teams are trying to restore power supply to the remaining areas, and we're trying to do that with the utmost urgency and get power restored as early as possible."
The authority would try to identify what triggered the disruption to ensure it did not happen again.
