The latest case was the first in a week.

One of the carriers remained in hospital.

The government and the French High Commission said 37 people were under surveillance while 19 showed no symptoms anymore and were out of isolation.

The lockdown imposed in March had been eased in the outer islands but remained in force in Tahiti and Moorea, which were the only islands with active cases.

The island of Taha'a had opted to maintain the lockdown.

All travel between the islands remained remains suspended and a nightly curfew continues to be applied.
