A team of four from the US Army Medical Service Corps is scheduled to arrive in American Samoa in early May to assist authorities with Covid-19 testing.
The team is part of the US Government's assistance for the territories in the fight against the coronavirus.
The team will bring their own fully self-contained lab, testkits and equipment to conduct the coronavirus tests.
Their medical arsenal includes a BioFire machine which can perform up to 40 Covid-19 tests a day.
The team is scheduled to be in the territory for six weeks, working with the LBJ Hospital and the Department of Health.
