PNG's capital records another case of Covid-19

Papua New Guinea's National Capital District has recorded case of Covid-19 taking the country's total number of infections to 540.

A 17-year-old male from Moresby North East is the latest case, meaning there have now been 322 cases in and around the city.

PNG had now tested almost 26,000 people, although there were still 132 samples awaiting results and the country's population reportedly stands at over eight million.

Authorities had expressed concern about a lack of testing in some provinces and a shortage of test kits around the country.

There have been seven deaths from the coroanvirus in the country.
