Tahiti Tourisme says it wants to increase its focus on domestic travel to offset the difficulties caused to its industry by the pandemic.
The organisation has revamped its website and launched a new locally televised programme to highlight attractions in French Polynesia's five archipelagos.
International travel suffered a downturn as the pandemic prompted the authorities to impose brief border closures.
Last year, French Polynesia had about 80,000 visitors, which was a 63 percent drop over pre-pandemic 2019.
However, by mid-2020 French Polynesia was the first South Pacific destination to relaunch international tourism by resuming air links to the US, which is its key source of travellers.
It was however a slight increase over 2020 when arrival numbers plummeted to 77,000.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been no tourist flights from Asia or Australia, restricting links to just the US and Europe.
In the past month, the service between New Caledonia and Tahiti was reinstated after a nearly two-year break.
