A number of top Fijian administrators and former Flying Fijians have been nominated for the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) board.
Local media report that the election of the new board is crucial.
"Failure to do so could see Fiji being suspended from participating in all levels of rugby," according to fijivillage.com's report.
The nominees have been put forward by local rugby unions, with elections being held at the annual general meeting at the Grand Pacific Hotel in the capital Suva today.
Among the list of nominees are Fiji Drua franchise chief executive Mark Evans, finance and investment expert John Sanday, and former Flying Fijian coach Ilivasi Tabua.
Union reps will elect directors for Commercial Director, Women's Director, Rugby Director, Legal Director, and Finance Director in the new-look board.
The current interim Board, led by Peter Mazey, will end their term at the AGM, after they were selected by the Sitiveni Rabuka government to lead the restructure of the FRU in March 2023.
