The polls are open in American Samoa for a run-off election to decide who will be the territory's governor and lieutenant governor for the next four years.
The vote today is between the two sides that received the most votes in the gubernatorial race on 5 November.
Pulaalii Nikolao Pula and Pulu Ae Ae Jr are up against the incumbents, Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga and lieutenant governor Laapui Talauega Eleasalo Ale.
Election Commissioner Dr Lealofi Uiagalelei is urging voters to get out and use their democratic right.
Sixty per cent of 15,445 registered voters had cast ballots on 5 November, with the Election Office saying usually there's a drop in voter turn-out in a run-off election.
Election office official Ma'e Poe Faumuina reminded people cell phones are prohibited in the polling place, after voters took cell phones into the polling places during the general election and photos of the ballots were posted on Facebook.
Faumuina urged poll workers to screen voters to make sure they do not take their cell phones into the voting booth.
Under police escort a convoy of vehicles transporting poll workers, ballot boxes, and portable voting tables made their way to the polling places throughout Tutuila.
Election Commissioner Dr Uiagalelei expects results to come in by 10pm tonight, American Samoa time.
Polling places are open from 6am till 6 pm, and the sale of alcohol is prohibited while polls are opened.
