Government services are working to clear up several landslides after a category one cyclone passed to the southeast of Samoa during the weekend.
Cyclone Tuni brought torrential rain, strong winds and rough seas causing some flooding and landslips.
Indira Moala reports.
The head of Samoa's Disaster Management Office Filomena Nelson says there has been no other damage and locals are now enjoying sunny weather, forecast for the remainder of the week.
She says crews are out clearing the landslips but it is now business as usual for much of Samoa.
FILOMENA NELSON: It's just landslides blocking the roads. So we've got a contractor that we've deployed yesterday. Up till now they're still working out there. But the roads are open, people have access. That's basically the main damage.
A spokesperson from Samoa's Meteorological office, Luteru Tauvalu, says the worst of the weekend's weather is now over.
LUTERU TAUVALU: We are having fine weather at the moment and we've also cancelled the heavy rain and wind warning and today's very sunny. We are expecting a few showers for the whole of Samoa and conditions will be mostly fine.
Our correspondent Autagavaia Tipi Autagavaia says locals were prepared for the weather but continued their lives as normal over the weekend.
AUTAGAVAIA TIPI AUTAGAVAIA: Not everyone was staying home. You know people were still out there doing their normal routine. Despite it, the houses were very hot because all the windows were tight, locked up with iron roofs, timber, anything they could find just to protect the houses from the strong winds and also the rain. But the trips between the Islands of Upolu and Savaii resumed today. So everything is back to normal.
Filomena Nelson says she expects all the roads to be cleared by the end of today.
