A Solomon Islands academic says the country's leaders need to change their mentality.
Victoria University associate professor, Kabini Sanga, said for too long leaders in his home country have been using their challenging circumstances as an excuse not to strive for excellence.
As the Solomons gears up for a 40th Independence anniversary Professor Sanga told Koroi Hawkins for any leader to settle for such a position is irresponsible.
