The people of the Northern Marianas are being told to prepare as a storm packing winds of over 200 kilometres per hour is forecast to head their way by Thursday.
In September the CNMI was hit by Typhoon Mangkhut, the strongest storm since 2002, which caused major damage on the southern island of Rota.
The National Weather Service's Brandon Aydlett told Koro Vaka'uta, a new system dubbed Yutu, is expected to inflict further damage this week.
