The Vanuatu government has contracted two companies to trial drones that could one day fly vaccines to children in remote areas.
The government has partnered with the UN children's agency UNICEF to select an Australian and a German company for the trial in January.
The chief of UNICEF's Vanuatu office, Andrew Parker, says the trial is born from the need to transport vaccines into the field while keeping them cool.
