New media cadetship for promising Vanuatu journalists

From , 4:01 pm on 24 January 2019

Vanuatu's largest privately owned media company has launched a programme to accelerate the practical professional training of up-and-coming ni-Vanuatu journalists.

The new cadetship programme honours the memory and journalistic legacy of the country's Jonas Cullwick through six month paid placements with the Vanuatu Daily Post .

Mr Cullwick died last year after a 40 year career which saw out colonial rule and the emergence of Vanuatu.

The media director of the Vanuatu Daily Post Dan McGarry told Dominic Godfrey that understanding the motivation for the fellowship requires an appreciation of Jonas Cullwick.
