The assistant national secretary of the Fiji Trades Union Congress Attar Singh has defended Mr Anthony in the wake of his arrest and a stinging attack from the government.
The government issued a statement saying Mr Anthony was only focused on derailing the biggest conference ever held in Fiji - the ADB meeting in Nadi this week.
Mr Singh says the government instead had derailed talks on labour issues.
