All government departments in Vanuatu will soon come under the country's landmark Right to Information Act.
The law was passed two years ago, one of only a handful in the Pacific, but it has been limited in its scope.
From August all government departments and agencies will have to give information they hold, if requested, with the aim of promoting transparency and national development.
The Vanuatu Daily Post's media director Dan McGarry told Sally Round the act's been working quite well so far.
