An international organisation dedicated to improving safety around elections says women in Bougainville face significant threats around polling time.
The International Foundation for Electoral Safety, or IFES, has conducted a study in Bougainville with aid assistance from the New Zealand and Australian governments.
The lead author of a report called "Violence Against Women in Elections in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville" is Alison Dyer.
