Satellite operating company, Kacific, says its new satellite will bring high-speed broadband to millions of people across the Pacific.
The Singapore company's first satellite, Kacific1, is being launched this week at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
The chief executive, Christian Patouraux, says Kacific already has significant Pacific connections and it provides vital links, such as stepping in when the Tonga submarine cable was cut a year ago.
Mr Patouraux told Don Wiseman about the impact he expects the new satellite will have.
