Papua New Guinea's former prime minister, Peter O'Neill, was arrested on Saturday.
But where do the corruption charges stem from, and how do they affect the current government?
Peter O'Neill, who was prime minister until he quit a year ago, arrived in Port Moresby on Saturday afternoon from Australia, where he had been waiting out travel restrictions due to the pandemic.
A video shared to social media shows Mr O'Neill emerging through the airport doors, to be greeted by a group of officers with warrant in hand.
