Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development agency have announced a new refresh plan for some smaller villages at next year's Pasifika Festival.
In the 2021 refresh plan, it states that Tuvalu, Tahiti, Tokelau and Hawai'i will have a shared space.
Manager of Events Production Leisa Siteine says this means the named villages will share a stage, but will have their own separate sections or fales within the shared space.
Ms Siteine spoke with Sela Jane Hopgood about how the decision came about.
