The former Cook Islands MP, Iaveta Short, wants to see big changes in the country's political system.
The lawyer, former cabinet minister and diplomat, has written a book called "False Dawn in Paradise."
He told Don Wiseman how a system borrowed from the colonial master, New Zealand, hasn't served the Cook Islands well.
