A temporary basic income is within reach of the Pacific's most vulnerable people to help them address the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the United Nations Development Programme, several Pacific countries have been assessed for the scheme.
The UNDP's Chief Economist, George Molina, says as the rate of new Covid-19 cases accelerates across the region, it also exposes the potentially-devastating costs of job losses and income reversals.
Mr Molina spoke with Christine Rovoi and she started by asking him what is the Temporary Basic Income.
