A Pasifika doctor is urging communities in Auckland to remain calm and abide by lockdown rules.
At midnight on Sunday Auckland moved to Alert Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand to Alert Level 2 after three community cases of Covid-19 were discovered in South Auckland.
Genomic sequencing has revealed the cases are the UK variant of the virus and authorities are conducting contact tracing to try and determine the origin and extent of the latest outbreak.
I spoke with Auckland Paeditrician, Teuila Percival, who has been urging Pasifika communities to remain calm and apply all the lessons learned from past outbreaks.
