Niue has re-affirmed its commitment to maintaining a maritime reserve across its entire ocean territory and exclusive economic zone, enforcing a ban on all foreign commercial fishing activity and imposing catch restrictions on local fishermen.
Established in 2020, the Niue Nukutuluea Multiple-Use Marine Park covers 317,500 square kilometres of ocean area, larger than the entire landmass of New Zealand.
