There are high sporting expectations in Tonga following the announcement that Israel Folau, Malakai Fekitoa, and Charles Piutau, will play for the Kingdom next month.
It is a historic moment, marking the first time for rugby players to switch national teams after recent changes in eligibility rules.
Tonga Rugby Union CEO, Peter Harding, says the sudden injection of former All Black and Wallaby players, means the Ikale Tahi could soon become a force to be reckoned with.
He told RNZ Pacific reporter Finau Fonua they have worked very hard to get the regulation changes over the line and it is fantastic to see them finally coming into effect.
