An El Nino weather event has been declared for Vanuatu meaning less rain and drier conditions.
The Vanuatu Meteorological and Geo-Hazards Department's Principal Scientific Officer under the Climate Services, Glenda Pakoa told RNZ Pacific's Moera Tuilaepa-Taylor what this means for Vanuatu.
In July, the World Meteorological Organisation declared El Niño conditions had developed in the tropical Pacific.
