In just a little over a fortnight Solomon Islands will welcome thousands of athletes from 24 Pacific countries for the 17th edition of the Pacific Games with participating contingents, including Australia and New Zealand, going through their final team preparations.
But in Honiara there is a development that could rock the host nation's campaign at the Games.
