Keeping traditional canoe building skills and testing navigation stories told about the giant Fijian 'Na Waqa Drua' or double-hull canoe is driving a Fiji based group to build the biggest canoe in the world.

Measuring over 100 feet in size the canoe is expected to be ready to launch in November.

Na Waqa Drua representative Carson Young and traditional builder/navigator Kaiafa Ledua spoke with RNZ Pacific's Iliesa Tora about the project and what it means to them.
