Total funding for Pacific Peoples in this year's New Zealand budget has been slashed by about $26 million NZD.
Pacific community leaders say they're not surprised, while the opposition is critical, saying it leaves vulnerable people out in the cold.
Minister for Pacific Peoples Dr Shane Reti declined an interview today but in a statement says he's working to ensure existing funding is directed towards the most effective investments in housing, economic development, education, employment, and health.
