A Pacific security group has raised concerns and scepticism over public consultation on a decade-long proposal to test missile defenses in Guam.
The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has given the people of Guam 30-days for submissions on plans for missile testing which could happen twice a year for the next 10 years.
The missile defense flight tests or target tracking exercises would be conducted from Andersen Air Force Base or at sea from a U.S. Navy ship in the western Pacific Ocean.
RNZ Pacific's Eleisha Foon spoke with Pacific Center Island Security spokesperson Leland Bettis about the proposal.
