FijiFirst party's founding members step down

In a shock move, the founding members of the FijiFirst party, have resigned.

Former prime minister Frank Bainimarama, ex Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and party president Ratu Joji Satalaka are among those who handed in their notice to the Registrar of Political Parties on Friday (June 7).  

RNZ Pacific's Delphine Herbert asked Governance Professor Vijay Naidu, from the University of the South Pacific, what he thought of the resignations.

RNZ Pacific has recieved confirmation from the Registrar of Political Parties that eight FijiFirst members have issued letters of resignation.
