Former PNG politician continues to serve community

Despite retiring 12 years ago Dame Carol Kidu remains the highest achieiving woman in Papua New Guinea in politics.

Dame Carol, is the widow of Sir Buri Kidu, who became PNG's first chief justice in the 1990s, and for many years she was the Minister of Community Development

The former politician has had a number of projects since retirement, but most recently, as she told RNZ Pacific's Don Wiseman, she has been overseeing the development of a small retreat, which will also be a workshop providing employment training.
