Mental toughness is what the Fiji sevens rugby team needs to make history at the Paris Olympics over the weekend.

They are chasing their third consecutive gold medal at the Olympics.

Head coach Osea Kolinisau and captain Jerry Tuwai say that is their focus over the next 48 hours as they prepare to battle Australia in one of the sevens rugby semifinals early Sunday morning (NZ and Fiji Time).

Other Pacific athletes and teams will also be in action as the Games opening ceremony gets done on Saturday.

As reported by RNZ Pacific's Grace Fiavaai and RNZ Pacific's senior sports journalist Iliesa Tora.
