'Hit by tidal wave' remote island in FSM needs seawall

The chief of Federated States of Micronesia's most remote island is calling on senators in the Congress to approve funds to build a major seawall.

Solomon Lawson says Kapingamarangi has been battered by climate related disasters for decades.

Last year homes were washed away and their taro patches damaged.

Mr Lawson told RNZ Pacific's Lydia Lewis his community is extremely vulnerable to the impacts of the climate crisis:
