There's hope Pope Francis' presence in Papua New Guinea will unify the nation.
It comes as the PNG government reportedly tried and failed to have the country declared a Christian nation before the Pope's arrival.
The head of the Catholic Church is on a 11-day multi-country tour and is spending four days in Port Moresby and small town Vanimo.
