Financial and political pressure, bribes and self-censorship are among the greatest threats to press freedom in the Pacific according to a new survey.
The inaugural Pacific Freedom Forum Index surveyed over 70 journalists and media executives across 14 countries.
It was launched this week on the fringes of the Pacific Media Summit in Niue.
Pacific Freedom Forum chair Robert Iroga spoke with RNZ Pacific's Moera Tuilaepa-Taylor about the survey.
