The popular video series, The Adventures of Piripi Kaiwaru AKA Phillip is back in TAHI for series two! Across six episodes, it illustrates the daily life of Piripi – with one vital difference to other factual or reality series – it’s narrated by his mother!

Series one was a runaway hit, offering a glimpse into a rural Māori boy’s life with his quirky traits and hard case perspective, a kid who doesn’t follow the norm. Having looked after the family home and held down his first mahi after school, Piripi’s ready to face a new challenge and meet some cuzzies across the ditch, embarking on his OE, Outback Experience.

TAHI Team Lead Harrison Pali says The Adventures of Piripi had a great first season on TAHI, with over 625,000 engagements on Facebook since its release.

“We are stoked to be able to be part of series two! We see a lot of value in offering laughs to the rangatahi of Aotearoa via video content and Piripi has so many laughs but also some learning baked in, it’s really the perfect recipe."

RNZ's Māori Commissioner Jana Te Nahu Owen says Te Amokura Productions has done it again with a funny, down-to-earth series that cleverly promotes te reo Māori through the witty and relatable narration of his mum, a character the fans absolutely love.

“Nau mai, hoki mai to our favourite coastie, Piripi Kaiwaru! He's back to entertain us and share his adventures in the Australian Outback. Karawhiua!"

A new episode every week from Monday 10 June on TAHI YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Watch the teaser or catch up on series one.

The Adventures of Piripi Kaiwaru AKA Phillip is produced by Te Amokura Productions and made with the support of Te Māngai Pāho.
